Gary Boyd

Owner/President, Greener Options Inc.

With more than forty years of experience in sustainable forestry and over fifteen years in environmental auditing, Gary P. Boyd, Owner/President of Greener Options Inc., has the knowledge and experience to assist forest-based or wood-based companies and forest landowners with their sustainability needs.

His past work experience includes working with corporations, state and federal agencies, and conservation organizations that has enabled him to develop a vast network of subject matter expertise in the field of forest sustainability. After working twenty-five (25) years for International Paper Company and Union Camp Corporation, Gary left the corporate world and became a Lead Environmental Auditor having conducted over 600 sustainable forestry and chain of custody audits for various third-party certification bodies. It was at this time Gary started Greener Options Inc. where he has continued to assist forest-based or wood-based companies along with forest landowners achieve and maintain forestry certification, such as American Tree Farm, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

Gary is a Certified Forester® and was named the Outstanding Field Forester in the southeastern United States by the Society of American Foresters in 2000. He is also an alumnus from the inaugural class (2006-07) of the National Conservation Leadership Institute (NCLI).

Having grown up in north Alabama and a graduate of Mississippi State University, the Athens, AL forester continues to help clients with their sustainability needs throughout the United States and North America.
