Kathedra is empowering furniture manufacturing with the first upholstery robots.

Kathedra is building AI-driven robotics for furniture manufacturers facing severe labor shortages, enabling manufacturers to deliver custom, just-in-time orders at scale while freeing workers to focus on their craft. Our lighthouse pilot is with a leading US high-end furniture manufacturer. Kathedra is deeply rooted in the NC furniture hub: incubated at the Manufacturing Solutions Center, partnered with Catawba Valley Furniture Academy, and supported by the SBTDC and Catawba County EDC. Advised by veterans from Herman Miller, Ethan Allen, and Lockheed Martin. Winners of the $25K Columbia Engineering Venture Competition and $10K NC IDEA Micro grant, and part of Columbia Startup Lab, LaunchCLT, and Winston Starts.
